New Patient Information
About the community setting
We want our patients to be as comfortable as possible. There are usually others getting acupuncture at the same time as you. Take comfort in the knowledge that we all share the same desire to improve our well being. Please be considerate of others by speaking quietly and turning off cell phones.
Although we have a group setting, your privacy is very important to us. In order to keep your business private, we will ask you brief and general questions. If there are topics you would prefer not to discuss here, please feel free to write or e-mail the information to us.
Preparation for the Treatment
Please do not come on an empty stomach. We ask that you eat something 1-2 hours prior to your appointment. If you are unable to do so, please let the acupuncturist know.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes. We need access below knees and elbows. Shorts, skirts, or baggy pants are best.
If you have any time constraints, let us know before the treatment. Ideally you will stay at least 20 minutes. Many people stay for over an hour.
Again, make sure to turn off your cell phone before stepping into the clinic.
In consideration for other patients, please avoid strong perfumes and colognes.
Feel free to bring items for your own comfort such as special pillows, blankets, headphones, or eye covers. We have ear-plugs for twenty-five cents.
Please get yourself ready before the acupuncturist gets to you. This means using the restroom, taking a chair, grabbing a blanket if you like, taking off shoes and socks, pulling up pants and sleeves, and reclining comfortably.
